Secrets of the Psalms - Working with magick psalm oil.

One of the things I love about spiritual work is that there are so many different paths and traditions available to us. Not everything has to fit neatly under the heading of witchcraft, Voodoo, or Vodou. Psalm magick has a long history and a character all its own.

For generations, people have turned to the Psalms for comfort, protection, blessing, prosperity, justice, guidance, peace, and spiritual strength. Of course, many people simply pray the Psalms devotionally. But there are also longstanding traditions in which particular Psalms are used for particular spiritual purposes, sometimes along with candles, sacred names, incense, prayer, and anointing oils.

That is where our Holy Spirit Psalm Oil comes in.

Our Holy Spirit Psalm Oil is a one-ounce spiritual oil made with nine ingredients associated with Biblical tradition, including mustard seed, frankincense, lily of the valley, olive oil, and other ingredients traditionally connected with prayer and sacred work.

It can be used very simply. You do not need an elaborate ritual or a huge altar. Psalm work can be some of the most personal spiritual work you ever do.

You might place a little oil on a candle before praying a Psalm. You might use a tiny amount while praying for peace, protection, blessing, guidance, or strength. Some people use Psalm work when asking for help with business matters, their home, relationships with others, justice, or protection from people who are causing trouble.

The important part is the prayer and your intention.

Psalm 35 has been used when dealing with slander and malicious gossip. Psalm 47 is associated with being respected and well received by others, and Psalm 61 has traditionally been used for blessing a home.

There are many, many more.

One thing I particularly like about Psalm magick is that it can be as simple or as elaborate as you want it to be. You can pray a Psalm quietly before bed. You can light a candle and anoint it with Holy Spirit Psalm Oil. You can create a full spiritual working with incense, candles, prayer, sacred names, and repeated Psalm recitation.

And you do not have to purchase anything to begin exploring it.

As always, I look at spiritual work as something that should accompany the practical things we do in our lives, not replace them.

If you are praying for a successful business, work on the business. If you are praying for peace in your home, take practical steps toward creating peace. If you are asking for guidance, pay attention to the opportunities, ideas, and possibilities that may appear.

Prayer gives us another tool.

And sometimes, having a spiritual practice to turn to when life feels uncertain is valuable all by itself.
